Why Jesus 365? Over the years, as I have been a part of groups with teenage students and adults, I have seen that whether they have been in church since they were infants or if this Jesus thing is new to them, they struggle with seeing the Bible as one whole, unified book. But the truth is, as I reflect back on when I took ownership of my faith as an adult, I struggled with the same. We read snippets and stories, never recognizing it is one beautifully orchestrated account of perfect creation, human rebellion, salvation, redemption and full and final restoration from God to us. It is a story of Jesus from start to finish. And it is still in progress. We are a part of it! The goal of Jesus 365 is to take a tour through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, looking at the characteristics of God...who He is, who we are in Him, how we relate to Him, His promises to us. For us to see the incredible picture of Jesus woven through the entire Bible from the first book to the last. For us to understand why we so desperately need Him and that He was Plan A all along; the only answer to sin and a redeemed, restored relationship with God. For us to know deep in our soul that He alone is worthy to be called our Lord and Savior. I pray we fully grasp how applicable it is to us today, no matter our background, age or current circumstances. The devotionals are presented in 365 short, easy to digest readings beginning with an introductory Scripture passage followed by a short devotional and either a question or a challenge. It can be used as a daily devotional to read one passage a day, or as a small group resource to read and discuss a handful each time you meet. My prayer is that it will be a helpful Biblical tool for teens, college students, and adults of all ages and life stages. I am praying that God opens our hearts and minds to His beautiful truth and this becomes one of many tools in a life-long journey toward deeply knowing, loving, abiding in and surrendering to Him.
